Blickling Estate is one of the highest altitude vineyards in Australia. At almost 950m above sea level, growing grapes can prove quite a challenge. This means our grapes have a slower ripening process but the rewards are unique flavours of crisp, fruity, full flavoursome wines.
The Geographic Indicator for the New England wine region is known as 'New England Australia’ and is the
newest wine growing region in Australia. Blickling Estate's boutique vineyard is just one of about 40 spread out over this vast area. Blickling Estate's wines have already been recognised nationally and have won a number of awards to date at some of the leading wine shows.
Blickling Estate first planted grapes in 1999. The vineyards cover 10 hectares (16,000 vines) of the 3000 hectare property. Our cool climate vineyards produce an impressive selection of wines.
You are welcome to visit our Cellar Door at our Visitor Centre on the property known as 'Banalasta' (near historic Bendemeer), an easy drive 55kms north of Tamworth on the New England Highway. Sample our premium wines whilst enjoying the picturesque setting. Stop for a coffee and peruse the gift shop stocked with our eucalyptus and lavender delicately fragranced health and body care range, suitably branded 'Banalasta'.

For the third year running, wine guru James Halliday, awards 5 black stars out of 5 to Blickling Estate in his 2009 Australian Wine Companion. He notes that our wines have “been consistently at or near the top for this period” and is considered to be the
“leader of the pack in New England”.
In October of 2009 at the New England Wine Show Blickling Estate picked up two awards - Best Aromatic White - for the Blickling Estate 2009 Riesling and Best non-aromatic white - for the Blickling Estate 2008 Unwooded Chardonnay.
