If you haven’t been to Banalasta it is well worth a visit.
Just 12km from Bendemeer and an easy 40 minutes drive from Tamworth, this 6,000-hectare property has been owned by the Blickling family for more than 25 years. These days it operates a diverse range of farming practices and one of its newest ventures is the eucalyptus oil plantation, lavender oil plantation and vineyards.
Open to the public from 9am to 5pm every day, it’s a great spot to visit; bring your family and friends and you can relax on the veranda, admire the stunning view and take in the ambience of this unique farm venture.
Take a stroll around their lavender display garden and vineyard and see the eucalyptus (radiata) plantation.
The friendly staff are happy to take you on a behind-the-scenes tour to show you how their oils are distilled and the visitors centre is stocked with local produce from the local community.
And for those who enjoy good wines, Banalasta also has 10.2ha of vineyards.
