Vintage is looking good. After a challenging wet and cool summer we are now experiencing a perfectly dry and sunny autumn to help ripen our grape crop. The slow ripening should result in nice fruit flavours in the 08 vintage wines.

Moderate crop loads should also help to produce premium quality. The Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir was picked in the 2nd week of March with Chardonnay and Riesling to follow just before Easter.

As part of NSW Wine Week, Blickling Estate was part of a major outdoor event that transformed Sydney’s Hyde Park into a ‘Wine Trail’. Visitors were introduced to over 100 premium wineries from all 14 NSW regions showcasing their finest wines in what was the biggest outdoor wine festival ever held in Sydney.

The day was jam packed with live entertainment, educational demonstrations and an array of regional food stalls. With the largest collection of NSW wines ever to be seen, Good Living’s Sydney Cellar Door Sunday (Sunday March 9 from 11am-6pm) gave wine goers the opportunity to expand their love of NSW wines, and to taste wine from some of the leading wineries.

A top day, Blickling Estate had great response and feedback, interested returning wine tasters, loads of orders and staff left with blisters from a hectic but successful day, all topped off with glorious weather. Look out for us next year!
