Easter Greetings,
Banalasta is in the middle of
harvesting the eucalyptus radiata plantation, in readiness for
distilling the oil for combining in our skin care products. There is a
wonderful clean fresh aroma in the distillery, one walks away from our
tours with clear nasal passages and a feeling of wellbeing. We
mechanically harvest the eucalyptus plantation when the trees are 50 cm
above the ground. Which we will allow to regrow for re-harvesting in
another year.
Banalasta’s Visitor Centre
garden, won 1st place for the best commercial business garden in the
local annual open garden competition on Friday 22 Feb. The judging was
awarded by Bendemeer Landcare and Garden Club Competition.
The gardens will be in full
flower for some time, so take time for a visit to see our flowering
labours. A great opportunity to enjoy a coffee or light meal, savour a
glass of one of our premium wines from our Blickling Estate Cellar
Door, taking a brisk walk while soaking up the stunning scenery and
ambience of our award winning property.

A fact about Easter: Pagan
traditions give us the English word ‘Easter’ which comes from the word
‘Eostre’ and the Anglo-Saxon word for April was ‘Eostre-monath’ (the
month of openings). However, Christians celebrated the resurrection of
Christ long before the word ‘Easter’ was used, and the word they used
for the celebration was ‘Pascha’, which is derived from and linked to
the Jewish festival of Passover.

From time to time we aim to bring you nature's solution
from our Banalasta garden, to assist with your minor health ailments.
We have done our research, hence why we have planted the world’s
largest eucalyptus radiata plantation along with our lavender fields.
We understood some time ago that these two healing essential oils, in
a wide variety of natural body care products would bring relief to
people with various skin problems.
|
|
Our eucalyptus radiata oil contains formidable
antiseptic and deep penetration properties to assist in the treatment
of skin irritations, cuts and abrasions as well as provide relief
from insect bites and stings. Antiviral properties help to relieve
common ailments of cough and cold symptoms and nasal congestion and
even cold scores. Soothing active properties to relieve muscular
aches and pains by stimulating circulation to increase the flow of
blood to affected areas.
Our French hybrid lavender oil is renowned to calm the
emotional state, helps relieve muscle tension and it possesses
powerful antiseptic and analgesic properties. This multipurpose oil
can also be used in the treatment of burns, hair complaints (loss and
dandruff), colds, bee stings, headaches and wounds.

While Easter’s most identifiable mark is associated with
the egg - the symbol of fertility and new life - another ideal
recognition of the renewal of life is the purchase of a World Forest
Tree. A tree will be with you for life and the thereafter, for
ongoing generations to appreciate.
Remember, if you have already purchased a World Forest
Tree in the past, you are most welcome to come and hug your tree. We
just require about 1 weeks notice to locate your tree in our
eco-forest. Please call us on + 61 2 6769 6659 .
